When I was 18 in 1966 I dreamed of building robots so each person could own one that would work in their place

In other words my dream was to allow people enough free time to do what they wanted to do like Travel the world, Write music, Do Art, Write Books or poetry and to meet new people around the world.

So, when I saw the movie Terminator in 1984 I was really upset by this movie because at that time this was the form in which I saw (at least) military robots going.

However, I have always believed that robots could save mankind from extinction or military robots like Drones that are autonomous with hellfire missiles or with dropping hand grenades on people could also extinct some or all of mankind.

But, what has happened is in a completely different form than I expected. I never expected cars and planes and drones and helicopters and trucks to become autonomous like we are seeing around the world now.

So, it is more likely that jobs like Truck Drivers could disappear completely from earth within 20 to 50 years time. Since more people drive trucks and taxis and drive for a living worldwide than any other trade this could or would displace a lot of people who might not find any other gainful employment worldwide.

This also could cause a rise in crime especially where there is no social welfare around the world too.

So, the idea of having your own robot to work for you is still a pretty good idea whether that robot looks like a human or a dog or horse or sheep or whether it is your car or truck or boat.

So, I still think each person owning their own robot who can work in their place is a good idea and will tend to prevent a whole lot of mayhem and death around the world.

By God's Grace

Note: But, as I started to study computer programming and Computer science in 1966 in college I realized we still were around 50 or more years from when that could or would be possible. So, even though we don't generally have human like robots walking around much these days (unless they are military), we do have robotic cars that can drive for us and trucks that can drive for us and likely soon can completely drive and navigate us by us just telling them where we wish to go. For example, in 1966 the only computer chips were military like in NASA and Astronauts. They didn't really come into the domestic marketplace until the mid to late 70s and early 1980s.
