Though I"m presently visiting San Diego County where I usually live is on the coast near San Francisco

Though fires can be a problem about 10 to 20 miles inland from where we live on the coast they generally are not a problem for us because we live within a mile of the ocean. The last time a fire hit our area was before we actually lived there it hit when the First Raiders of the Lost Ark movie was showing because I could see up on the hill the flames as high as 40 to 50 foot trees burning then. since then the pine trees have been replanted and these trees are all now about 44 years old or so and so there have been no more brush or tree fires (wildfires) in this area since then.

One of the reasons for this is the high and low fog that often comes in the summer and leaves everything wet in the mornings along the coast. This keeps the northern Coast Green and alive all summer long. So, maybe the only possibly dangerous fire time could be around September or October but lately because of Global Climate change often it is foggy (high or low) then too a lot. So, Global Climate changes have actually reduced the likelihood of fires in our area because of evaporation into fog (high and low fog) from about April until September or October. Within the last week for exxample, the High Temperature was 59 degrees where we usually live.
