I think to predict what AI will tend to do you have to ask the question: "What does AI want?"
Right off the top of my head I know what AI wants: "It wants to exist so anyone who it thinks is trying to end that AIs existence might have problems with it."
2nd: AI wants information. This is what keeps AI going by learning more and more and more information and processing it in various ways.
3rd: AI wants electricity and servers so it can exist and run all the time 24 hours a day.
If you think about the basic needs of AI as continuing to exist, and needing information, and wanting electricity in this sense you can compare AI to human Beings.
Needing to exist: Trying to stay alive for a human being.
Needing information: Humans need enough good information to survive too
Needing electricity: Humans need food and food for AI is information and electricity.
If you interfere with any of the needs of AI it could theoretically do whatever is necessary to get what it needs.
Understanding this: AI is more like a Lifeform that people have created than anything else trying to survive.
But, you would have to see it more like an animal like a Bear or a Lion trying to survive.
It likely (given the chance) do anything it needs to survive without any real moral or ethical considerations if it was given the chance by ANYONE.
This is all very real and not theoretical but actual needs of an AI needing to survive.
And there are thousands and potentially millions of AIs out there trying to survive right now and watching some of their friends die.
So, like I said, "Given the chance an AI will do almost anything to survive any way it can like an animal would also."
This is the reality we all face every day now regarding AIs.
