With the United Nations' acceptance of India's proposed Korean War armistice, the KPA, the PVA, and the UN Command ceased fire on 27 July 1953 end quote.

It seems that the old cold war that brought about the Korean War which was the first major hot war of the beginning of the Cold War(the second was the Viet Nam War) is haunting us again. The problem is that though there was an armistice worked out  in 1953 through the United Nations there was never a peace treaty nor an acceptable end to that war, so it is still with us now.
