The World has Gone Mad

No Freedom of Religion in Pakistan

I was writing "No Freedom of Religion in Pakistan" above and thinking just how crazy things have been lately. One doesn't have to go any further than the releases of Julian Assange to realize just how very crazy these times are we live in. The ramifications including deaths, destroyed lives etc. from Assange's releases are like a world wide mini war that could even turn into hot wars in some circles eventually worldwide.

The craziness of the world right now is amazing. The above article that I wrote just made me think about Christianity and Islam worldwide. It made me think how the Catholic Church has protected child molesters for thousands of years. But what I don't think most people on earth get is that child molesters are within every church on earth not just the Christian ones. It is there in every religion everywhere. It is just endemic to the extremes of organized religion everywhere.

Molestation takes place wherever people allow themselves to be "drugged" by ideas without logically and rationally thinking for themselves about the whole thing in a useful practical and ethical framework that people can actually live within successfully.

I'm not against religion. I want everyone to understand this. What I am against is people using ANY religion like a drug so it is okay to kill people or maim people or molest people in the name of God. So those religious people who do this sort of function like beserkers for God on drugs even if the drug is an out of balance idea in their minds beat into them as children on pain of death.

Religions of all kinds can either be the most civilizing thing on earth or it is the most destructive thing on earth when taught by psychologically unbalanced people everywhere. So when I say the world has gone mad in some ways it always has been mad in this sense. However, some of us are waking up out of this madness of thousands of years and are able to think clearly for ourselves in a logical sane way. And whether this includes a religion or not might not matter as long as we are sane enough to treat each other with kindness and respect and can develop ethics and wisdom enough to all live together here on earth without killing or maiming or molesting each other.
