Assange may surrender to British police
To read news article click on "Assange may surrender" above see quote below.
In what Assange described as a last-ditch deterrent, WikiLeaks has warned that it has distributed a heavily encrypted version of some of its most important documents and that the information could be instantly made public if the staff were arrested.
For days, WikiLeaks has been forced by governments, hackers and companies to move from one website to another. WikiLeaks is now relying on a Swedish host. But WikiLeaks' Swedish servers were crippled after coming under suspected attack again Monday, the latest in a series of such assaults.
It was not clear who was organizing the attacks. WikiLeaks has blamed previous ones on intelligence forces in the U.S. and elsewhere.
WikiLeaks' huge online following of tech-savvy young people has pitched in, setting up more than 500 mirrors.
"There is a whole new generation, digital natives, born with the Internet, that understands the freedom of communication," said Pascal Gloor, vice president of the Swiss Pirate Party, whose Swiss Web address, wikileaks.ch, has been serving as a mainstay for WikiLeaks traffic.
"It's not a left-right thing anymore. It's a generational thing between the politicians who don't understand that it's too late for them to regulate the Internet and the young who use technology every day." end quote.
Though it is possible the government of the U.S. and others could just take all computers that are the basis of mirror sites worldwide, it is likely one or more computers or laptops not found will still be able to download onto the internet somewhere the encripted 'Doomsday files' after Assange is arrested or he is killed 'accidentally'. So I think it probably is a done deal likely that his doomsday files will get out.
The doomsday files contain all the most strategic of businesses and things the U.S. needs to function worldwide as a solvent and functional country. So, one wonders where or if or when all this craziness is going to end?
Because already Osama Bin Laden is already drawing up an assassination list of hits just from what has already been released. It is likely other groups, nations etc. are doing the same. Where does all this stop? Where does this end?
Here is the news article on the new Osama Bin Laden assassination list:
US: WikiLeaks release gives hit list to al-Qaida
Also, I found the following article :
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/07/world/europe/07assange.html?partner=rss&emc=rss
here is a quote form nytimes.com article above:
Mr. Holder’s statement followed Mr. Assange’s assertion that “over 100,000 people” had been given the entire archive of 251,287 cables “in encrypted form.”
“If something happens to us, the key parts will be released automatically,” Mr. Assange said Friday in a question-and-answer session on the Web site of the British newspaper The Guardian.
His threat is not idle, because as of Monday night the group had released fewer than 1,000 of the quarter-million State Department cables it had obtained, reportedly from a low-ranking Army intelligence analyst. end quote.
Like I said earlier with not only 500 mirror sites and now over 100,000 individuals having downloaded the encrypted site all they need is the "password" which decrypts all 250,000 of the leaks. Only 1000 of them have been released so far.
