Why is enlightenment important?

Because without intellectual, psychological and spiritual enlightenment people cannot make good and useful decisions. Part of becoming enlightened is you get better at filtering information. Often if people haven't been taught how to stay calm while filtering information they cannot figure out who is lying to them often whether in person or in media or in print.

When you cannot discern when you are being lied to it is very difficult to make useful decisions in your life and not jeapordizing your life in various ways.

So, moving towards enlightenment helps a person stay calm while receiving any type of information sort of like a soldier. You understand that extreme things are happening in life all over, but if you lose your head and get all emotionally extreme too then you cannot make useful decisions regarding your own survival or the survival of your family and friends.

So, moving on a path of enlightenment starts for many people with going to college or just finishing high school in order to learn critical thinking so a person can make successful decisions by learning how to judge and gauge what people are telling you.

Often people are sincere but might not know what they are talking about. you and I have met many people like this that don't want to be thought of as uninformed so they make up stuff.

But, if you are at a crossroads in your life that person could destroy your life while meaning well.

So, figuring out who knows something about something and who doesn't can save you at least financially at each and every point.
