I think we presently are in a 2nd Cuban Missile Crisis only with North Korea this time

Why?

Because North Korean Government is depending upon this happening at this point. There really is no end game here that I can presently see.

Without an end game conflict is inevitable unless North Korea changes it's present tactics. General Mattis (Secretary of Defense) is a Conservative who is more "By the Book" like General Kelly (Chief of Staff now) Both, If I have this correctly are Marine Corps Generals (leave no men behind) is one of the mottos of the corps which now likely is "Leave no one behind" because men and women and mutliple gender people are now in all the armed forces because of Obama and Bush and Clinton "for better or for worse".

So, with this attitude there is no place for North Korea to go except up in a puff of smoke. So, the likelihood of some kind of military solution to North Korea is imminent (within the next year or two) unless something completely unexpected happens.

However, in a Trump presidency "The Unexpected" is an everyday occurrence  with Trump and Kim Jong Un in the world so I would have to say not having a military solution to this problem is maybe around 20% at this point for a variety of reasons.

So, either North Korea disappears in a flash along with most or all of it's people or maybe the Chinese military take it over with Troops and tanks (one or the other).

This isn't something that can go on like this for years and years.

China won't let this go on any longer.

The U.S. won't let this go on any longer.

South Korea won't let this go on any longer

Japan won't let this go on any longer

And

The United Nations isn't going to let this go on any longer

So, something has got to give and so this is the end of Kim Jong Un one way or another within the next few years time.

I believe us to be in the next Cuban Missile Crisis right now only with North Korea.

Just like Obama told Trump even before he was inaugurated, "North Korea is going to be the biggest problem you will be facing!"
