You may have discovered this much before me. However, I have had a hard wired step up from my 60 inch flat screen TV with a line to earphones so my wife isn't wakened by late night TV if I stay up until midnight of 2 am. I tend to be a late night person if I'm not having to get up early for a doctor's appointment or on business or flight or travel schedule by car or truck. So, tonight I remembered the earphone jack in the Roku Controller. My daughter just updated my Roku (for streaming netflix and Amazon prime and other versions).(The old one kept crashing and reloading so we realized it was time for a new Roku. So, I thought I would try plugging into the Roku Controller with my earphone jack that I had plugged into my line from my flat screen. I really liked that I could control the sound on this jack from the remote Roku Controller and the fact that I could also keep it away from me so information being transmitted back and forth from the controller would have no ill effects on my health long term either. It's sort of like when I 90% to 95% or more of the time never put a cell phone up to my ear (except in some dire emergency) for the same reason in order to protect my health. By the way don't wear your cell phone over your heart unless you want to be dying of heart problems by the time you are 50 either. Just remember, even if you are not making a phone call as long as it's on it is pinging every 30 seconds to a minute back and forth to the nearest Cell phone microwave tower right through your heart if that is where you are wearing it. It's basically transmitting a code that says basically "I'm here available for a phone call from anywhere on earth." and then that specific tower acknowledges the ping and places you within 3 feet of where you are location wise through the GPS satellite above the earth.
So, anyway I find that my cord from my earphones keeps me 3 feet (at least away from the transmissions and I can walk even into the kitchen while the reception on this is good and still see the TV sort of if I turn it in this direction if I want to with no noise from external speakers and not waking my wife up either. It works Great for late night not waking up people in the house and also I can regulate the volume by a toggle key on the controller opposite the earphone jack too. So, basically anytime you are watching anything through your Roku system you can use it.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
