End of the World? I don't think so

If you check facts scientifically, you find that scientists can't even calibrate the Mayan Calender precisely with our Christian Based Calenders for a variety of reasons. So 12-21-12 is only a good guess at the ending date. So the actual end of the Mayan Calender could have already happened as early as 1980 and could happen as late as 2020. It is said there is a 35 year window of probability. For example, one could argue the end of the Mayan Calender was when the really bad 2004 earthquake and tsunami happened around Christmas 2004 and probably be just as close as saying 12-21-12.

However, my wife and I were talking about actual psychological deaths and how the public changed a lot world wide. For example, when JFK(John F. Kennedy) was assassinated it was one of the most awful and insecure times for this nation in my lifetime. I call it "the end of innocence and blind trust by the American people of their government forever. So, when the Beatles came along one year later or less a whole generation of people were ready to "Make love not war" because we knew our government had killed Kennedy (and then later his brother). For us, the American government would never be trusted by us ever again. I call this "The complete death of innocence and blind trust for my generation".

There are several other incredible psychological explosive changes I have witnessed in my lifetime. Like when Nixon went to China. Did you know that most of China's success in the world began with Nixon in China. Before this China was thought of almost exactly as North Korea is now. In other words we were fictional characters in their media and they were fictional characters in ours, always a recipe for eventual bloody war. Nixon ended the chance of a land war with China and began to make them financially interdependent with the United States. And Now here we are and China is beating us at our own game. We didn't have a war but maybe China didn't need a war to defeat us. Maybe they only needed capitalism all along.

Another big change was the Cuban Missile Crisis. Never were the people scared of ALL dying by melting hundreds of big nukes like that time.

Another big change was the collapse of the Soviet Union because the Soviets didn't realize that Afghanistan is an unconquerable nation. Has America learned from this. Doesn't look like it. You can nuke it out of existence maybe but otherwise I think we should leave it alone or very likely we will inevitably suffer the same fate as the Soviets. A sick cynical statement would be: (Yes we CAn)Suffer the same fate as the Soviets in Afghanistan. If it weren't true I wouldn't say it, unfortunately. I don't want Obama to become the American Gorbachov. We live in very scary times.

So, do I think the world is going to blow up 12-21-12? NO. But it might economically be the permanent end of the America we know unless we figure out a new way to cope!
