Home Again

My wife and I sort of felt like we both had been run over by trucks when we tucked each other in bed last night at our hotel within walking distance of Disneyland. Disneyland is a whole lot of walking (for most people) so you want to be prepared for that (especially because the main street station for the train that goes all around Disneyland is closed for refurbishment for now).

So, when you go in their expect to have to walk to Tomorrowland or Frontierland or wherever you are going and back. The same is true for the "California Experience". So, after two days of Disneyland and temperatures as high as 91 degrees Fahrenheit there until10pm at night watching the fireworks, riding some rides (including the monorail) we were pretty beat walking ourselves back to our room. My wife said, "I wanted someone to carry me home", because she had injured one of her feet a couple of weeks ago and it was still healing. I was feeling cramps settle into my upper back and shoulders because of a day pack filled with 3 water bottles, long pants, and jackets for when it got colder at night. (Shorts are really useful if the Temperatures get above 75 or 80. Anyway, it took us about 7 1/2 hours to get home from Disneyland by my 6 passenger Truck 4wd. Tomorrow we pick up one of our kids so she can go to school Monday after being off for around10 days now. Disneyland was really useful to my wife and I. I had never gone to a Hotel across from Disneyland before but I will be sure to do it again. Especially when the temperatures got too hot for us it was nice to just walk back to the room and put the air conditioner on until it cooled down a little and relax. So, I'll definitely do it that way again.
