Amy Shumer: A Modern Day Joan Rivers?

Female Shock humor sort of started with Joan Rivers and Phillis Diller. But, of the two Joan Rivers likely broke more barriers. Likewise, today Amy Shumer is doing the same thing for women that Phillis Diller and Joan Rivers did in their time. I remember first listening to Joan Rivers in the 1950s and sort of cringing in what she said. However, it helped open a lot of doors for women even though I'm sure Joan Rivers took a lot of Flack culturally for what she was saying at the time. However, look at Joan Rivers now. She is still going likely into her 80s now.

Also, Phillis Diller always presented herself as sort of the goofy housewife next door, also. Very self deprecating like many housewives were in the 1950s still.

So, Amy Shumer is just the latest example of the newer  comedians breaking the boundaries for traditional comedians that are female worldwide.
This is a picture that came up for her which I think is hysterically funny if you think about it for a minute. She has a show now on Tuesdays on Comedy Central.

The picture is not displaying anymore. However, if you click on the little icon in the middle of where it was it will bring up not only the picture but an article about here you might want to read.
