Game Of Thrones director Alex Graves has claimed that the finale of series four will be the "episode to end all episodes".

Graves, who helmed the show's most recent episode 'The Lion And The Rose', said that executive producers David Benioff and DB Weiss had a huge ending planned to the HBO fantasy drama's current season.

"It's the largest season and most challenging season that they've mounted, not only physically and technically," he told Deadline. "It's the first of what happens with the actors and the reason for that is that basically the end of a new season is the turning point in the middle of the story and a lot happened."

He added: "Episode 10 of the season is, you know, as David and Dan will tell you, it's the first true finale they've ever done and it's really the episode to end all episodes. It's the largest episode they've ever made."

It was revealed earlier this month that Game Of Thrones has been renewed for a further two seasons. The show, which is adapted from George RR Martin's series of fantasy novels A Song Of Ice And Fire, has been a huge hit since premiering in 2011 and has won numerous television gongs including Golden Globes, BAFTAs and Emmys.
