River Dee
Trust biologist Jamie Urquhart made the discovery. The Trust was
initially unsure what caused the pancakes, but suspects they're caused
by a rare phenomenon in which foam freezes in a swirling eddy.

The Trust
said it's the first time the pancakes, more commonly found in the

I haven't been to visit Balmoral Castle but I have stayed with friends who live in Aberdeen for about 1 week in October 2011.
