Luckily, my hotel room in Portland had an ice scraper for scraping the ice off the windows of your vehicle. So, I put it in my jacket pocket because weather below freezing I was going to experience between Portland and Mt. Shasta even if not on the San Francisco Coast because of the Pacific Ocean.
So, yesterday morning I had borrowed my daughter's car to go to my hotel room because I was towing things of hers down in my truck since she is moving. So, I had to spend time scraping the ice off her car windows so I could drive and then when I reached my truck to tow her things south I had to scrape the ice off my trucks windows too. Luckily, I have side boards so I can stand on one on each side to reach the window because my 4 wheel drive truck has a lot of air between it and the ground. Though this is stock it often means most people (unless they were 7 feet tall) can't reach the center of the front window with an ice scraper. Another name for this step would be a running board. I find it useful also for my wife or daughter if they want to get into my truck. And even I in my late 60s have an easier time of getting into my truck without having to run and jump into it because of it's height.
This morning as I look out I again see frost on all the cars so I know it got below freezing last night.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
