Anyway since I was 12 to 21 years of age from 1960 to 1969 I can totally relate to this program titled "Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll" (2018) The aftermath of Vietnam and a counter-culture that emphasized spirituality and spotlighted.
end note.
For example, there is a designation that you never heard much of before this which has a log of adherents now which is:
"Spiritual but not religious". Though this is a somewhat vague term it means you might not go to church much because you have a direct relationship to God and Spirituality yourself. So, you really don't need a church necessarily because you practice your spirituality 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
This way of thinking "DIRECTLY" came from the 1960s and hoards of people going to college and learning to think and act for themselves and to be their own criteria. The term "Self Empowered" was another one from this era too.
It is one of the reasons why the whole earth hasn't nuked itself out of existence already. Because young people started traveling the world by the thousands and millions and started making friends with all cultures instead of just joining the army to go kill them all.
A Saying of the Viet Nam Era was "Join the military to travel the world and meet exotic people and kill them" which was the point of view of the average college student in the U.S. in the 1960s about the military then.
People have changed a lot since then but it was how we got to here without nuking the whole world out of existence on the way.
Now, I would say the world is having a reaction to everything that happened in the 1960s.
If you watch what happens in the world everything is sort of cyclical. For example, the 1990s the 60s sort of happened again and Trump reminds me a lot of Senator McCarthy and the Leftist Witch hunts of the 1950s that destroyed so many people and caused them to commit suicide here in the U.S.
But, if you study history everything that goes around comes around too.
In other words "Whatever you do to others comes back upon you good, bad or indifferent eventually."
As ye sow shall ye reap.
So, it behooves us to help one another because helping someone else often causes someone to help you.
