When I traveled especially to India and Nepal in 1985 and 1986 for 4 months I saw this in the people there. By the time someone was even 5 years old they would have seen dead bodies somewhere or a relative dying by the time they were 5. So, they tended to be much more realistic about death than people in the U.S. or Europe generally are.
I would say that Americans sort of live in a "Disneyland" world where dying and bodies are hidden from most adults and all children possible.
On one level people are less traumatized with Death PTSD but often then when someone dies unexpectedly people can have psychotic breaks because they haven't experienced death before that close to them.
So, I think it is more realistic for people to be allowed to experience death at any age so that people can prepare for their own deaths and to be more realistic about the whole thing.
Because being an American is mostly pretty unrealistic regarding death I find much more than other countries.
And being unrealistic about death often people can be unrealistic about life in general and this just makes everything sort of crazy in the end.
To have integrity with yourself and people around you, you need to be straight with death too.
Accepting your own death is the key to immortality in the end.
