We should make electric cars for these half of all young people who want them

However, the batteries right now are not safe. They can catch fire without warning as you have seen in the Tesla 3 video.

The Electrical Coronas need lead sheeting near where large electric motors are to protect the passengers. It isn't likely useful to wrap an electric motor in lead sheeting because of overheating problems but you can put lead sheeting between the passengers and driver and the motors.

In Hybrids you have to shield both the generators run by the gasoline or diesel engines AND the Electric motors too to protect the driver and passengers.

Otherwise you are going to have all sorts of problems within 15 to 20 years of people getting all sorts of cancers likely leukemia and other bone and blood diseases from riding in electric cars.

However, it wouldn't be necessary to shield drivers from batteries except to protect them from batteries catching cars on fire.
