I heard about a Netflix series called "Insatiable" and at first looked at it but it seemed to "Sick" for me to watch. Sort of like a Homer Simson kind of thing but not a cartoon where the morals are all screwed up. But, over time I wasn't finding anything to watch much and was tired of watching things where people are dying all the time. And it seemed like time to watch something less violent on TV or Netflix or Amazon Prime or the Roku channel. So, I began to watch this series. Now I'm about 6 episodes in. I keep telling myself that it's all to sick to watch but I find myself watching it anyway. I think you have to call it a "Black Comedy" because of the way it works (not race but the style of comedy). But, about 4 to 6 episodes in the lead a character they call "Patty" who is likely a 16 or 17 year old high school student starts to become less "Scary" and starts to evolve into someone you might even want to know in real life.
So, there is also this redeeming quality to this series that I like about halfway in.
But, at first you have trouble liking anyone in this series because each character is so flawed in their own ways. But, also because of this it reminds you more of real life than anything else where everyone is flawed in various ways. So, when religion comes into this series in the form of the "Magic Jesus Beauty pageant" it's pretty funny from almost any direction you come from.
But, obviously this series is not for everyone. But, for me it has become a "guilty pleasure" because it is funny in so many ways it tends to take the "Edge" off of life for me lately.
For me, this has been "The Summer that Wasn't" which means it was a very difficult summer for me to survive. The fires in California are just a part of it and a sprained knee where I couldn't even walk or drive a car for 2 or three weeks during July and even now it hurts to walk but is slowly getting better. So, this summer has been "One for the books" in trying to survive both physically and psychologically, especially after having to survive a near death experience with Congestive Heart Failure in the Spring.
But, I guess I'm tougher than I thought because I'm still here and getting better on all levels.
