"The Good Place"

Ad

  1. I had heard a little bit about this series on one of the late night Talk shows that Kristen Bell visited so last night as an experiment we watched the first couple of episodes. They have an interesting way of weaving a philosophy or ethics professors point of view into the story to Kristen Bell (who winds up) in the Good place by accident after she dies in a strange way on earth. So, the ethics professor tries to teach her about ethical and honest and truthful behavior(which is kind of interesting considering how unethical our present president is right now.

  2. So, you can see this program as a silly or sweet pleasure I guess. In some ways it is silly but it is well written I think and transports one to an interesting place of ethical dillemas that are supposed to be sort of like Heaven I guess. Michael is there as an immortal being who has never been human being himself who is the architect of this particular heaven. But, he isn't seen as an angel or even an archangel but instead an entirely different kind of being that lives in 9 dimensions but the human residents of the Good Place (or this particular heaven) Michael designed this particular heaven for them all to live in.Luckily, this is a comedy which makes it a happy silly kind of pleasure for my wife and I to watch so far. Also, there is a computer assistant called Janet who doesn't have feelings and isn't sentient but more like a living computer too. So, it's great fun if you like this kind of thing.
  3. We watched it on Netflix which has the first 2 seasons so far and the next season starts on NBC 9-27-18 I guess.
