Why?
I have observed that people who are healthy and never sick all their lives often just die when faced with a near death experience.
You will see robustly healthy people just die because they have no idea how to survive a serious illness. But, if you have already survived one or more near fatal illnesses you know what to do. You remain calm, you don't waste your energy, because you know you have to have enough energy to make it through to the other side. So, you stay calm, you don't freak out no matter what, you stay the course, and you just might make it through to the other side.
By not giving up and not freaking out and staying calm and focused as much as possible, you maximize your potential for surviving any situation.
What the worst thing you can do in a serious illness:
Freaking out
Going jogging while really sick
not rationing your energy
Drink enough water
Don't try to work through serious illness
You need to be asking yourself this question:
What can I do to maximize my potential for physical survival?
If you aren't logically and carefully asking this question you might not survive.
