About Noon today Sunday PST I went outside and noticed some of the downspouts were plugged so I asked my wife to spot me while I climbed up to 15 feet high on an aluminum ladder. We did fine off the den deck but when we went to the front there were gusts of wind up to 40 or 50 miles per hour so when I had climbed down from the ladder to get a hose to make sure my work on the gutters and downspouts was working in front the wind blew the ladder down and luckily we weren't in the way of it when it fell so they only damage was a 4 inch piece of bark off one of our trees in the front yard. I think 40 to 50 miles per hour was the highest wind gusts we got right here. However, in the Big Sur area they got 70 mph bursts of wind and in that region they also got 10 inches of rain at higher altitudes. Santa Cruz also got over 5 inches of rain with most other places getting under about 2 inches of rain from the weekend storms so far and more rain before that. I'm thinking that the Sierras must have (as of about almost 1 AM early Monday morning at least 5 feet of new fallen snow many places at this point. But, I also know that Sierra Ski Lifts have also been making snow too so at least 10 ski lifts or more are now open too.
I checked Mt. Shasta Ski Park and it says they are not going to open until December 13th 2019. A friend of mine says he had about 3 feet of snow in his property near town but says it's supposed to rain in the City of Mt. Shasta for the next few days because of warmer temperatures so the snow on his land and in town likely will melt but the snow likely will stay above about 5000 feet or so on the Mountain I'm thinking. The Town is about 3900 feet elevation where he says it's supposed to rain and melt the snow there in town.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
