Compassion and Truth

 The Sword of Truth Cuts both ways but compassion mostly heals.

As a young man I believed everything was about the truth. I was a believer of Truth and Love. But, as I watched how I gave people the truth that sometimes my truth saved people and some times it harmed them. As I began to realize this often I was horrified at the consequences of my always wanting to share the truth with people about everything. What did this teach me?

It taught me that sometimes the truth kills. And at one point it almost killed me too. This is where I was very confused by almost dying because of the truth too just like I had seen others almost dying because of the truth before this.

So, I stepped back from being the "Bringer of Truth". I started to realize especially spiritually and religiously that "The Spirit of Truth usually brings good but that the Letter of the law of Truth almost always kills people."

This was a terrible pill for me to swallow in life. It forced me to change how I lived my life and how I did everything after that.

I began as I started becoming more of a man to realize that you just can't go sharing everything with people even if you think they deserve the truth because it "JUST MIGHT KILL THEM".

For example, you know a couple that are married but you also know the man is sleeping around. Do you tell the wife that her husband has been with every woman in town? This might kill one or both of them.

This is what I mean. You don't want that kind of responsibility for people dying or committing suicide do you?

It's better they find out (if they ever find out) from someone else. Because then you don't have their blood on your hands.

So, these kinds of situations and others changed me a lot from a worshipper of truth to a worshipper of compassion. Because literally, "The spirit of the law mostly gives life but the letter of the law almost always kills.

THE SWORD OF TRUTH CUTS BOTH WAYS!

So then I started to realize treating all beings with compassion was superior to someone who always spoke the truth about everything. Because unless you figure this out people are going to die because of what you know if you tell them at the wrong moment or sometimes anytime at all.

So, what I have learned is treating all beings with compassion is the most powerful path of all simply because if life can trust you to treat all beings with compassion (including yourselves) then life can give you any amount of power of any kind at all and you won't harm them with it.
