Note: if you haven't watched Game of Thrones series yet and intend to there is a spoiler in the last line regarding Jon Snow if you don't want to read it.
The only problem was, beginning with what happens to Ned Stark you sort of are given a case of PTSD whether you watch the rest of the series or not. I know the author wants the series to be realistic in medieval ways but the audience gets severe whiplash over and over again because the story follows more the rules of reality even though there are also magic people and creatures and dragons in it. So, the chances for a hero of the series to die is almost 100% by the time the series ends.
It was an overwhelming experience much like real life can be through the coronavirus era to watch that whole series. When this happened to Ned Stark I stopped watching the series for about 1 year because I found myself very invested in his character because he seemed to be one of the few redeeming characters in the whole series at that point outside of Jon Snow who is one of the few characters who actually survives this series that you get attached to along the way.
