Most days since Christmas it's either been raining or cloudy and about to rain. I can remember maybe three days of sunlight and most days were only 1/2 a day of sun or less which is very unusual for Coastal California (at least this time of year). Because from April to September it can be cloudy or foggy almost any day (at least along the Northern Coast). But, most of the rest of the year this is very unusual to have almost a month of Rain and clouds beginning to rain. Trees are still coming down all over the place because of the wet soil loosening roots or causing multiple rock and mud slides. Large trees sliding down hills in the mud especially in the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Santa Lucia mountains above Big Sur.
Where we are I walked my dog along the beach trail much of which is now washed away or deep holes where the trail used to be and rocks up to 50 to 100 pounds thrown across the trail and sometimes into the paved coastal road nearby.
On the 21st and 22nd of January the King tides return which means that if river flooding (several rivers) co-inside with King High Tides it could be another disaster up and down along the northern coast too of California.
