Loch Lomand

In Scottish vernacular Loch means "Lake" so Loch Lomand means Lake Lomand.

I've been to Loch Lomand twice in my life once in 1999 with my mother while she was still alive and my older daughter who is now 34 and married and then once again with my wife and two daughters in 2011 when we went there to Edinburgh Castle (which I loved from 1999 experience with my daughter and mother) and eventually we stayed with my wife's friends from the old days in Aberdeen with a Doctor and his wife and children there for awhile that my wife had met traveling in Australia years before.

Scotland is one of my favorite places I have ever been traveling, especially near the Cairgorm mountains and Aviemore in the highlands of Scotland where royalty goes to ski there and where if they still have them there are reindeer. My daughter loved the wild reindeer herd we saw in the Cairngorms when she was 10. It was a major bonding experience going through Edinburgh Castle with my 10 year old daughter then in 1999 and going to see the Reindeer wild in the Cairngorm mountains that we found staying in Aviemore there in a hotel. I rented a car at Edinburgh Airport and drove to Glasgow and Loch Lomand and this is why I wanted to go to Loch Lomand:

You take the high road

and I'll take the low road

and I'll be in Scotland before you

But, me and my true love will never meet again

on the Bonny Bonny Banks of Loch Lomand
