Most men I have known passed away before age 75

Why is this important to me?

Because I'm presently 75.

My father passed away at 69

His brother passed away at 73 or 74

My best friend from Church passed away at age 62 in 2006

My best friend from Junior High and High School passed away in 2011

However, then there are two men I knew who passed away at 90 and 98.

What did they have in common?

The 90 and 98 fellow were Father's in law to me.

So, they were not blood related but what caused them to live longer?

They were Stanford men who graduated Stanford at the beginning of World War II.

One was a captain in the Navy during world War II and then Graduated from Harvard with an MBA

The other one who lived to be 98 was a CPA, an Accountant who flew me in his plane which was a Beechcraft Bonanza V Tail when he was 85 years old.

So, does a good education help with longevity?

It seems to because with a good education sometimes all the other things in your life come into order and you can live a long time.

In my own life I got a heart virus in 1998 and expected to die then like most people I knew of with a heart virus in California in 1998 did.

However, my wife insisted I retire at age 50 which I did simply because I had a 2 1/2 year old daughter. So, I refused to die then because I needed to be here for her and my then 10 year old daughter and my then 25 year old son as well.

So, the point I'm making here likely is that I stayed alive through all that and retired mostly because of my wife and children and here I am now at age 75 still going strong.

So, for me, staying alive has always been more about my children and my wife than myself, especially after I was about 30 years old. Being alive never really made much sense to me in my 20s but by the time I started having children at age 26 it began to make enough sense to raise my kids right and to start businesses to support my wife and children ever after.

By God's Grace
