All the rain in California has mostly prevented Fires (At least so far)

However, many places have Wild oats and Wild mustard that can be 4 to 5 feet high all over the state as you drive down freeways like Interstate 5 and Highway 101 both of which go the length of the state pretty much from south to north. So, at least so far we haven't had any major wildfires.

Many times coming here to Mt. Shasta I have to leave because the smoke is too bad because I can handle the altitude or the smoke but not both at the same time now at age 75. So, if there is smoke I try to go somewhere else in California so I can better survive it. Though we might have bad fires yet this year they likely will be sometime between August and November here in California. In the meantime our 2nd heatwave of the summer is bringing 115 degrees to places like Redding this weekend and a temperature of 104 to even Mt. Shasta this Saturday. Luckily we likely will be heading home to the California coast and the ocean before this happens.

Note: on checking google maps 101 starts around Los Angeles County somewhere and heads up to Oregon.
