The hottest temperature in Redding this next week is 115 degrees. But, it's important to know that the hottest I remember it being in Redding all these years traveling through in the summers is about 111 degrees in mid to late August but not now! So, temperatures in heat waves this summer appear to be at their maximums about 5 degrees or more above the hottest temperatures we have seen before all over California and Arizona so far. For example, the hottest I have personally seen it in Palm Springs is around 125 degrees Fahrenheit. If this 5 degrees above normal follows through in Palm Springs you could see a temperature between now and the fall of 130 Degrees Fahrenheit?
IF you have ever been in 125 degrees in places like Palm Springs or Death Valley, California then you know it is like stepping into an oven and you don't want to stay at this temperature very long out in it if you want your brain or body to continue to work at all. You can survive 125 degrees for awhile as long as it is dry enough and you have water. But, being young and healthy helps a lot too to survive temperatures like this.
