Of course this likely would depend upon the person but my experience is that knowing what is actually going on in your own life and the lives of those around you more accurately is helpful to living your life and helpful to others trying to survive their lives too.
The basis of all this appears to me to be compassion for oneself and all other beings in the universe.
Even if you take this in a completely selfish way where you see everything is only for you, helping yourself and others helps you live a better longer happier life.
You might say: "Why does this helping others help me to live a better longer happier life?
Your subconscious mind does not usually distinguish between the good you do for yourself and the good you do for others (whether it is recognized by them or not).
Your subconscious mind (and we all have this basic 2 year old inside of us) experiences all good for you and for everyone else basically in the same way. So, it punishes you for hurting yourself or others and it helps you for helping yourself and others.
It's a scientific thing how this all works.
Even if you look at the human cellular organism it is a colony of cells that help each other survive. So, your brain is also a colony of brain cells that help each other survive.
Also, it is my experience that the human colony of cells that you live inside of also communicates with life all around you all the time. So, your human colony of cells is communicating with plants and animals and people in non-verbal ways.
Being aware of this non-verbal communication between all living things also increases your chances for survival physically longer and longer and longer.
So, the more you help yourself and others the more others and yourself help you to continue to be alive in a good way.
So, everything good you do for yourself and others and all life on earth and beyond tends to increase your lifespan and your happiness.
