IF you look carefully at the graphics of the Polar Vortex coming down in this word button (Link)

You can see how an Ice age could occur given cooling land masses (1 centigrade) in the U.S., Europe and Asia from the past.

All you need is more precipitation (which is coming over the years from quickly warming seas) combined with cooling land masses (like we have now) combined with a Polar Vortex drop when a lot of precipitation is moving off the pacific ocean and across the U.S. and "Voila!" you have a potential ice age beginning.

I know it's a fluke but I would say it's a 50-50 proposition this is going to happen to the U.S. within the next 200 to 300 years the way things are presently going.

It's all about flukes and dynamics that can set it. It is caused by gigantic fluctuations like we have in air, water and seas. Seas warming, polar vortexes moving dynamically, air cooling,  land cooling and what happens when 10 to 20 inches of water off the ocean turns to snow one day which means 10 to 20 feet of snow in a polar vortex and then doesn't melt and all rain turns to snow that doesn't melt after that for some time.

PHDs in Climate science understand this. Likely you should begin to understand this too because I would say it is a 50-50 chance of actually happening in the next 200 to 300 years because of all the dynamics already in place.

The only safe places in the lower 48 states likely would be parts of Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Alabama and all southern states like Arizona, parts of New Mexico and coastal regions of California. But, from the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Cascades eastward, it could be ice sheet 10 to 20 feet thick to begin with and if that stayed 10 to 20 years it could deepen to 100 feet or more deep of ice and snow. Understanding this now is a possibility from existing present dynamics is important to your long term survival if this actually happens sometime to you or your children or grandchildren in the next 200 to 300 years here in the U.S. and around the world at these same latitudes.

So, it is theoretically possible that something like this could start from the Sierra Nevada caused by extreme evaporation and ground cooling from too many clouds of the land place ice across the U.S. from the Sierras and Cascades and because of the dynamics here this could spread all around the world at these same latitudes from there.

Coming off the Pacific ocean would be the logical place it might start.
