China has successfully tested EMDrive which will soon be ready to explore deep space. China successfully tested its EM Drive in space. EMDrive (electromagnetic drive) represents an engine designed for a spaceship. This type of engine is fueled by electromagnetic radiation. China has conducted several tests on verifying this space technology in their labs. China managed to obtain positive results when testing EMDrive. Their new technology will help in deep space exploration. However, scientists only tested this electromagnetic drive in a lab. On December 10, Dr. Chen Yue, the Director of Commercial Satellite Technology for the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), has stated that they succeeded in testing the revolutionary technology. Typical engines usually generate power only by discharging mass. On the other hand, the EMDrive engine uses electricity to fuel movement. Roger Shawyer was the man who first built this device. Nevertheless, he developed it as a microwave cavity which was a compressed cone, having an end bigger than the other one. Shawyer proved that electromagnetic energy stroke the narrow end of the cone with microwaves which hit the walls of that cavity developing electromagnetic resonance. China’s space program will develop plans for space missions to Jupiter, Venus, Mars and asteroids after receiving LM-5 massive craft and its electrical satellite engine. EMDrive was designed to attain this goal. EMDrive was developed having a low impulse, and because of the friction present in deep space and the lack of gravity, this device will indeed function at high speed. The performance of the engine is dependent on the material of the cavity, but also of the temperature that interacts with the magnetic field. Thus, this demonstrates that EMDrive will be successfully used in space missions, being created with superconducting materials. The design of the satellite needs to be congruous with EMDrive to develop an accurate performance. Thus, China will see if EMDrive will be successfully tested on the Tiangong2 or not. Scientists keep their fingers crossed for this test to accomplish positive results. Up until now, China did not release any photos of EMDrive. Nevertheless, NASA has issued another EMDrive known as the unmanned X-37 space plane or Eagle. EMDrives are known to be suitable for deep space exploration because they do not need a refuel. To run an EMDrive, you only need a power source, such as a reactor or even solar energy. These crafts can also be used as high function satellites, being able to abandon space consuming propellants.
