Carrie Fisher on Ventilator
They are saying she didn't breathe for around 10 minutes which might have meant she was breathing too shallow for the average person to notice or else she would have died during those 10 minutes. But, the fact that she is on a ventilator could mean she is in an induced coma to allow her to heal, or it could be that there is irreversible brain damage from a lack of oxygen during those 10 minutes. At one point my father in law when he was alive was put into an induced coma for about 2 weeks. Then he was given an Amnesiac to forget whatever dreams or realities he had visited during this time and then he woke up and lived about another 5 to 7 years after that and seemed perfectly normal until he was about 90. So, there are many miracles they can now do with medical technology that wouldn't have been possible 20 to 50 years ago. So, almost anything might be possible now.
