Of those donors, 70% were first-timers and about half were millennials, according to the report. About 82,000 donations were gifted in Pence’s name, a cheeky nod to the Indiana governor’s fierce, longtime crusade to restrict abortion access.

Planned Parenthood, which in addition to abortion services provides birth control, STI screening and treatment, breast exams, sex ed, prenatal care and Pap tests, has lately benefited from inventive protests launched by pro-choice activists.
A pants-less Pence lookalike, for example, has traversed Times Square collecting donations for Planned Parenthood and the National Resources Defense Council in a repurposed whey protein container. (He calls himself Mike Hot-Pence, naturally.)
A “Bye Bye Birdie” parody video from singer Missy Modell and writer Siobhan Thompson also urged viewers to donate to Planned Parenthood instead of giving gifts this holiday season.
The state of Texas, meanwhile, announced last week it would slash Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood, cutting off more than $3 million used to serve 11,000 women annually.
Planned Parenthood has received 50,000 donations in Pence’s name
“Texas is a cautionary tale for the rest of the nation,” organization president Cecile Richards said in a statement. “If the nation goes the way of Texas, it will be nothing less than a national health care disaster.”
