It turns out that the reason Building Contractors live longer than Laborers is that Contractors are under less stress than laborers because they are making all the decisions. Laborers live shorter lives because they don't get to make the decisions and tend to be exposed to toxic substances in their work more. Also, laborers tend to not have as good health care and die sooner for this reason as well.

And unfortunately this is getting much worse by the year as the gap between the two is growing. So, laborers are dying younger and Contractors are also progressively dying older.
There is no published research about this in the U.S. which is suspicious to me so I had to use this data from France. France's data might also be out of sink for some reason unknown to me also. But I believe there is likely a correlation across countries like France, Britain, Canada and the U.S. etc.
Also, Laborers life expectancy has gone down significantly since 1990.
