Proposal Rock on Oregon Coast
My wife and daughter were attending a Women's meeting so my daughter's boyfriend and I took a drive to the coast. On the way it started to mist so I was glad to be in an All Wheel Drive for better traction in the rain. When we reached Hiway 101 we thought about traveling north to Tillamook, Oregon on the Coast but realized the women's meeting would be out within an hour of our arrival on the coast so we decided to put off that trip for another day in the future. My daughter's boyfriend showed me a good place to stay in the future there on the beach near Proposal Rock which is almost sort of like an Island of trees that looks sort of roundish but also connected to the ocean and a stream running into the ocean. So, it is a very beautiful and unique place that you don't see much of in California. But then again this is Oregon. Earlier in the day we had put together a shed on the horse ranch they live on that raises Horses. The three of us men had to carry these large reinforced walls which likely would have been dangerous for only 2 of us to assemble. But with three of us we all managed not to get injured at all (not even a cut) while assembling the 3 sides and roof of the large shed. Then I drove the 4 wheeler ATV into it that is used for riding around the ranch longer distances with to get it out of the rain. Getting the building and roof all perfectly aligned and square so everything fit properly was difficult. So often we had to use a maul or just a large block of oak wood that will eventually be used for firewood to knock all the pieces into more perfect alignment for bolting it all together. Luckily even the roof assembled correctly and in the end left us all fairly pleased with ourselves for putting it together so it actually worked right and couldn't be blown apart even in a heavy wind. So, even the roof was safe from winds over 50 miles an hour or more. So, it was a good feeling to have everything work relatively perfectly with no injuries to anyone while completing the task.
