The Paradox: What Keeps War Out of America

If you look carefully at history no one has been foolish enough to attack the lower 48 states (as a country) since the War of 1812. Yes. We have had a Great Civil War but outside of ourselves no one has been foolish enough to attack this country. And why is that? One reason since 1814 when that war was ended by Andrew Jackson in Louisiana is that American citizens are all armed to the teeth and always have been. Any country would be out of their minds to send an army into 300 million potential snipers. So then this is the paradox. Since the U.S. is armed to the teeth we represent the last bastian of freedom on earth and this is defended by all the civilian weapons that people own. And beyond that it is also backed up by all the military weapons and know how we have used to defend ourselves in all wars including the First World War, the 2nd World War, Korea, Viet Nam, Iraq, Bosnia, Somalia, Afghanistan and all the other places. Countries take the U.S. seriously in regard to weapons of all kinds because this country has always used weapons to defend ourselves.

And the full paradox is: If the U.S. was not armed to the teeth and does not remain so, likely democracy will be gone from earth within 50 to 100 years. Because we are the only country that takes as extreme a position of defending the freedoms of everyone and are willing to use any or all weapons in the U.S. to do that at home or worldwide. So, if you like living in a democracy in the U.S. or worldwide just remember that your democracy likely could not exist without the U.S. defending your right to your democracy worldwide. In the end we are the single country that has always been capable since World War I to help defend your right to live in your democracy worldwide. And that is something for everyone on earth to think about. And the alliance of democratic nations worldwide need to be aware of how important it will continue to be to have a country like the U.S. standing up for them whether or not their military is strong enough to stand up to whatever threats might come in the future.

I wrote the above because it is true and to illustrate the full folly of gun control. Gun control presupposes a civilized world. But, though our country is relatively civilized most of the world is not civilized. To disarm our nation only allows those who will get weapons anyway and who will use them anyway to harm more law abiding people both here and wherever gun control laws exist. The world is NOT civilized. People who live in cities might have the illusion of civility to the point where they might not need guns to protect themselves. However, most people at some point realize part of what protects all homes in the U.S. is that every potential criminal automatically knows that if they break into a home for any illegal purpose, someone in that house might kill them with a gun or other weapon. This actually is the best deterrent to break-ins and murders in the U.S.

The deterrent cannot be any longer the police because the police departments are now so shorthanded or non-existent because of cities and counties going bankrupt right and left that in most areas it might take 1/2 hour to an hour to actually get the police to come to someone's home. And by that time it likely would be too late for the residents to still be alive. So, owning a gun or the appearance that a gun might be in literally every home is actually the best deterrent to crimes of all kinds regarding people's homes nationwide. No one can actually count on the police to save them during these economic times when police aren't even being paid in many cases. The only way to protect yourselves for sure in the U.S. now is to arm yourselves in a safe way that protects both you and your children and all you hold near and dear safe from harm ongoing.
