The pros and cons of cutting off Air travel to Western Africa or Africa itself

Let's discuss the disadvantages first:
1. People wouldn't be able to leave to escape getting Ebola by plane.
2. People who are Americans wouldn't be allowed to return to the U.S. for better treatments
so many would die and their relatives would sue the U.S. government for this.
3. Economies in Africa that have been devastated by Ebola whose infrastructure both medical and financial is gone couldn't receive aid flights so thousands to millions would definitely starve to death and 99% of these don't have Ebola yet. So, basically you would be murdering millions of people who don't yet have Ebola and haven't done anything wrong.
4. People are going to lie and come to the U.S. anyway possibly carrying Ebola. By not making it illegal for them to come here it is less likely they will bring Ebola here because they would be more likely to go to a hospital if they came: even though Duncan might have died partially because he knew he might go to jail if he returned to Liberia or have been prosecuted by the U.S. so this likely was a factor in his dying.

What are the advantages of cutting off air travel to the U.S. from Liberia and all western AFrican countries?:
1. it might keep Ebola staying mostly in Africa and the Middle East and possibly Europe. It's a long way across the ocean and many people who had Ebola would show symptoms well before they got here by boat.
2. It might keep it from spreading not only to the U.S. but also to all countries in North, South and Central America.

By keeping it limited by cutting off air travel we might save the Americas from a major Ebola epidemic.

Now which is the right answer?

In the short run cutting off Air travel might be the best answer. But, in the long run cutting off air travel might make the whole Ebola mess 10 to 100 times worse in the next 1 to 5 years.

It is also possible that even if you completely cut off air travel people in Ebola countries would do literally anything to escape at some point so the wealthiest people who have money to bribe people to get out are going to get out no matter what. If you have visited countries outside of the U.S. you know exactly what I'm talking about.
