To most people in the media the byword is: "There really is no bad publicity".
However, to Trump he doesn't want people to think things he doesn't want them to think. It doesn't mean what is being said about him isn't true. It just means he doesn't like it being said about him.
It would be like a parent trying to protect their children (in Trump's case it is his self image) but imagine a parent didn't want people to know their child was crippled. For example, FDR was crippled and had to use leg braces but the public wasn't shown this because there wasn't TV to display this. So, most of the American public didn't know FDR was a cripple who needed crutches until he had died in the 1950s well after world war II.
In the case of JFK he had lovers at the White house whenever jackie wasn't there hundreds of them and this was mostly kept secret until he was assassinated. Many people speculate that he was assassinated because of sleeping with the wrong man's wife for example or girlfriend.
But, today almost no secrets can easily be kept anymore and this upsets Trump a lot. So, he doesn't like the Truth to get out about him. And he doesn't like most people's versions of the truth.
But, then again neither did Hitler and look what happened to 6 million Jewish people.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
