All nuclear power plants were ONLY designed to be safe for 50 years at most

So, if you live near a power plant older than this you might already be in trouble. And depending upon how long ago (like the 1950s) when your nuclear power plant was installed, you then know just how potentially dangerous it is. How many cars have you seen that run well still (On the original engine when they are 50 or more years old for example?)

So, this is the dirty little secret of nuclear power plants everywhere that no one really wants to talk about, especially in places like Russia and anywhere else they have really old nuclear power plants still working from the 1950s. For example, if a Nuclear power plant near you was built in 1955 it was 50 years old in 2005, so now it is at least 63 years of age. This is something that is going to get worse now every year all over earth.

The same is true of Gas Mains everywhere. We have gas mains in the U.S. that are 100 years old at this point and have not been replaced underground. So, it is ONLY a matter of time before they explode too or get a crack and then the gas leaks out and gets set off in a flame 10 to 30 or more feet high like the one in San Bruno, California.

By getting involved in 6 trillion dollars in expenses since 2001 in warfare we have neglected our gas and bridge infrastructure as well as nuclear power plant infrastructure which can only cause thousands of deaths of civilian Americans likely far beyond the amount we lost in all the wars since 2001.

That's the other problem: Our bridges are slowly rusting away one by one across our nation now. And one by one (if they are not retrofitted somehow) they are going to be collapsing from now on. The next time you look at a rusty bridge near you check the date it was built. I think you have to use the 50 year bridge rule like the Nuclear power plants and the gas mains too. Once you get beyond 50 years with any of these things they are going to need some retrofitting at the very least. However, the problem with nuclear power plants is that their pipes are often set so deep in cement it is no longer safe to even dig them up radiation wise. So, most power plants at some point likely just need to be covered over with cement and left as they are to prevent further radiation pollution of water and lands and air in that region of the world.
