Because almost always there likely will be some jobs done better by humans. Thinking everything can be automated at any point might be an erroneous way to think. (At least during this century). Just because you can successfully automate some things doesn't mean you can automate all things in a AI or Robotic way. Certain things still lend themselves to human beings doing and likely will for at least this century or beyond.
Being able to ferret out what these things are will help to keep more human beings alive and prevent more from dying unnecessarily like the man watching Harry Potter movie on the dashboard of his Tesla Model 3 when his Tesla thought a semi truck crossing his highway was a street sign instead of a semi and it wound up cutting off the upper part of the driver watching the movie driving down the road because the Tesla wound up driving underneath the semi truck trailer and beheaded (actually more than beheaded because it took him down to about his chest or midsection when the semi trailer's bottom came over the hood of the car and took off the whole roof and the top half of the driver.
And the only way that some people are going to learn these things is through their mistakes.
So, I applaud Elon Musk for being able to see his mistakes and moving on. This is how the human race prospers and grows in a useful way.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
