I haven't been to Idyllwild much since I climbed Tahquitz Rock learning Rock climbing on the route White Maiden's Walkway in the late 1969 and 1970 when I started rock climbing a lot there and Yosemite with a friend. He learned that he needed to lead the routes because he is 5 foot 10 and I'm 6 foot 5 and he couldn't follow my routes because my arms and legs are longer. So, the tallest person in a rock climb shouldn't lead the climb because anyone shorter cannot follow his or her moves.
