This photo likely wasn't taken during world War II but rather at least 20 to 30 or more years later of this liberty ship. You can see the places where rust is building up and it needs painting pretty bad at this point but at least you can see what a liberty ship on the open oceans looked like even if it is up to 40 years after it was built.
The only gun I can see for sure looks to be the 5 inch cannon on the stern of the boat. this tells me that this is long after World War II was over because they likely have removed the Anti-aircraft 20 mm placements on the bridge and bow and all that remains is the 5 inch cannon to be used against pirates on the ocean sea. I magnified it to be able to see this but have no idea whether the 5 inch gun is still usable from this photo either on the stern.
