Apr 3, 2018 - Regular migraine attacks can also cause vision problems, called an aura, which can involve flashing lights and blind spots. But these symptoms usually appear in both eyes. See your doctor to find out if you have ocular migraine.
I found out that ocular migraines come from the back of your head like regular migraines but if
don't have any pain associated with them it is much better. However, when I first had an ocular
migraine I thought I was having a stroke or something because it was like lightning bolts in my eyes
visually going off for sometimes 1/2 hour to an hour. So, when this happened first time in 1999 I was scared and thought I might die or have a stroke. It wasn't explained to me that this was an ocular
migraine by someone who also got migraine headaches regularly until almost 20 years later now. But, ocular migraines
aren't painful most of the time unless you are also a migraine headache sufferer.
When I went to see an eye doctor recently he told me he also had ocular migraines but didn't
get the headaches either. So, this is a pretty normal thing I guess for people to have.
He also told me about "Scratchy eye" syndrome which is a bateria about 80% of the people
over 50 have especially people with Rosacia. Since my dermatologist says I have rosacia
I also have this bacteria in my eyes that causes "Scratchy eye syndrome" . He said he
has this too and so he raises the temperature above 101 degrees to his eyes by using a
special eye protector mask you put in the microwave for around 15 seconds. But,
if you get one of these masks (mine says) "Bruder moist heat eye compress" be sure to not
get it too hot in the microwave. The doctor said you only need to wear these things 5 minutes
to kill the bacteria that causes "Scratchy eye syndrome then you use "Ocusoft Lid scrub"
to wipe away the residue and then finally you use lubricant eye drops the doctor says. doing this
once every 24 hours is sufficient to keep yourself from having "Scratchy eye syndrome" the Eye
Doctor said.
