To me, the most important thing in Dr. STrange the movie is when she drives him out of his body and he experiences soul travel for the first time.

The materialist must face the fact that the soul and the body are two different things.

This begins his quest for the truth on a deeper level than just being an American Doctor.

So, he becomes not only a master of doctoring but also a master of Soul Travel as well.
