I can only share with you what happened to me when I literally became a fire breathing dragon during my vision quest in 1983.
I was not eating food or drinking water for 4 days under the teaching of a Medicine Man who was Lakota Sioux. So, we had a sweat and then I walked up the Trinity River in Northern California to a Bear wallow where I vibed was where I should do this alongside of the Trinity River there. This was about 5 to 10 miles from the nearest paved road. I never saw even one person during this vision quest because it was too remote for anyone to come there. After no food or water for 2 days and one night on the 2nd night I was fasting from water and food on this vision quest while praying I turned into a Great golden Dragon bigger than a house and breathed fire on everyone.
At first I was terrified people would die from the fire I breathed, but instead they all smiled and became enlightened instead. So, I realized I was a good and powerful compassionate dragon enlightening people wherever I went.
This was a very good sign in my vision quest and eventually led to me meeting many Tibetan Lamas and I also found that there was also a Dragon Lineage within Tibetan Buddhism especially in Bhutan where Drukpa Kunley is from.
Drukpa Kunley when I went to Dharamshala, India in January 1986 and met Thubten who was a student of Geshe Lobsang Gyatso, Thubten told me about Drukpa Kunley in very funny stories which made me laugh so hard I fell on the floor in laughter.
At the time I believed Drukpa Kunley was a fictitious figure who was a zen joke way of getting people to become enlightened. Along about 2000 to 2010 I discovered Drukpa Kunley was actually a Crazy Wisdom Tibetan Buddhist Teacher in Bhutan which was really amazing and also wonderful for me to discover.
The Name Drukpa means "Dragon" by the way.
Here is some of the stuff I found out about him by the way 1455 to 1529
