People sometimes want to have people take care of them after they retire and move to retirement or care facilities.
The problem with this if you can still take care of yourself it will lengthen your life to continue taking care of yourself. As soon as you let people take care of you your mental and physical capabilities will begin to reduce.
So, the more you do for yourselves and the longer you do it then the longer you will tend to survive mentally and physically as a direct result. One of the reasons I continue to blog is it keeps my mind active solving problems ongoing. I also do many things around the house like weed eating any weeds with my gasoline weed eater. I water roses and plants and trees during the summers especially to keep them alive and green. We had bark put down over screening to prevent weeds growing more like they used to in our front and back yards which greatly reduced the work needed by me to do in the past few years before I had my heart helped by a pacemaker. I was dying then I got a pacemaker which likely added 20 to 30 years to my life. But, getting one is expensive so being on Medicare helps a lot before you get one if that is possible.
Otherwise, often people die before they get one if they are under 65 years of age when you can get on Medicare if you are a U.S. citizen or possibly someone with a Green card eligible for Medicare.
The point is the more work you can do to take care of yourself and keep you body and mind active the longer you will tend to live.
So, work or fun where you get healthy exercise is what helps keeping you alive along with a good diet and exercise regimen and healthy air and water and food.
