However, the thing I believe is that the U.S. would have no choice but to bomb the chip factories in Taiwan because they are the most advanced in the world if China took them over quickly somehow.
The point Fahreed Zacharia made is that the food rationing during zero covid where some people got no food at all and starved in Shanghai is potentially a preparation for U.S. sanctions against China because of future Chinese plans for Taiwan.
The point about the most advanced chip factories in Taiwan is that the whole world depends upon these advanced chip factories right now because the main one in Japan burnt down.

Microchips are the biggest single factor in inflation worldwide besides Oil. In fact, it has made all used cars over 40% more expensive since people can't easily get the new cars now that they want.
It's made a situation worldwide more like when they stopped making new cars in the U.S. because they were making tanks and planes during World War II instead for 4 or 5 years time.
