One moment at a time

I was worried last night because my wife needs a hip replacement. She already had a knee replacement in 2014. But, the nearness (within a few months now) of this operation is wearing on us. Especially since the Knee replacement took about 2 years to finally get right. The 2014 operation on her knee they put the wrong plastic spacer between the titanium metal parts so they had to put a different size plastic spacer between the two parts so that was another operation within 2 years. So, it was difficult because it wasn't done exactly right the first time. So, it's hard to go into another joint replacement operation knowing what we already know about this. Though knee and hip replacements are now common they aren't perfect either. However, they are much better than walking around on crutches or in a wheelchair the rest of your life too.

I was up from midnight until 3 am worrying about all this. I was cold last night for some reason and couldn't get warm and then woke up and was worrying about fielding this with my wife because I will be 75 this year and I don't feel as emotionally capable or physically capable of doing this like I did 8 years ago in 2014 when I was 8 years younger and still in my 60s.

Once you get past about 70 it is much more difficult to manage things like this I find. At least this is my experience.

There is only now

one moment

at a time

If you take life one step at a time you can often calm yourself better.

It's when you try to do everything at once that you stress yourself so much that you cannot function at all.

So, when life begins to be overwhelming just take one step at a time, one moment at a time to get through it all.

Age has it's benefits because of all the many experiences in life you can draw from.

Younger people tend to panic more because they don't have enough experience yet to draw from.

Understanding this you can manage your life better at each and every point.

By God's Grace
