When the earthquake happened I said to my wife: "Looking at these conditions the death toll is going to be 10,000 to 20,000: now I wish I was wrong!
What I'm saying here is the death toll could be worse than the Earthquake Tsunami in Japan in 2011 where I believe 10,000 died in that tsunami and earthquake. That was the one where Fukushima had 3 meltdowns of their nuclear reactors and the reactors melted on down into the water table at Fukushima and went out to sea (likely still doing that).
But, I'm sad to see that I was right. Because if there are 16,000 deaths now you can be sure at this point that there likely will be 20,000 or more because of the weather and people being too terrified to go into their homes because they are scared they will be buried alive.
Yes. I think if it was me I would rather freeze to death in the snow like they are rather than be crushed to death by my apartment building going down somewhat like the World trade Center Buildings.
But, once again one thing people should remember. If you have a tent and a down sleeping bag and a candle and enough food and money you likely could survive this terrible terrible thing. The candle and sleeping bag and tent would keep you warm enough usually even in freezing temperatures and snow like they have there now. You put your hand over the candle for added warmth but not too close.
